11 Nights 12 Days Bhutan Tour Package – Thimphu – Wangdue – Punakha – Bumthang -Paro
Day 01 Paro Airport to Thimphu:
On arrival of Paro International Airport our representative will receive you and transfer to hotel in Thimphu, it will take around 1.5 hrs. to reach Thimphu. By reaching Thimphu check in a hotel and after freshen up visit our first destination of Paro the Jungshi Handmade Paper Factory. Traditional methods are used here in producing paper. Having a look at the entire process of traditional paper making is an experience in itself. Also you may visit the local market of the town and spend your leisure time shopping or trying out the local cuisines. Back to your hotel and overnight stay at Thimphu.
Day 02 Explore Thimphu:
After breakfast, enjoy some sightseeing of enchanting city Thimphu. Visit the National Memorial Chorten, a Stupa built in the year 1974. It was built in the honour of the third Druk Gyalpo and the highlights of this place are its golden bells and spires. Next visit the Trashi Chhoe Dzong. The place has been the seat of the Dharma Raja, who is the head of Bhutan’s civil government. The structure of this place is two storied with white washed walls and a further three storied tower on all four corner depicts triple-tired golden roofs. Visit last destination of the day National Folk Heritage Museum. Where enjoy the glimpse of the culture of Bhutan. After completing sightseeing back to hotel and stay overnight at Thimphu.
Day 03 Thimphu to Wangdue:
After breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Wangdue another tourist destination of Bhutan, around 2 hrs. journey from Thimphu. Check in a hotel in Wangdue and after freshen up explore our first destination the Jigme Singye Wangchuk National Park. You will spend the entire day here and enjoy the beautiful surroundings that consist of natural trees and gigantic valleys. The park is the largest protected area in Bhutan and is a haven for migratory birds. Also you may see the Red Panda, Snow Leopard, Black Bear, Blue Sheep, and Takin here. After this thrilling experience back to hotel and stay overnight at Wangdue.
Day 04 Explore Wangdue:
After breakfast complete your check out from hotel and begin your sightseeing tour of Wangdue i.e.- The Temple of Sha Radap. This place is also known as the Rada Lhakhang and the temple gets its name from Sha Radap. Visit the Phobjikha Valley. The valley is one of the few glacial valleys in the country and is distinctly shaped like a bowl. Visit last destination of the day the Rinchegang Village. After Wangdu sightseeing drive to Punakha a 15 km journey from Wangdue the winter capital of Bhutan. On the way you may enjoy picturesque views of distant Himalayas at Dochula pass (altitude 3,050 mtr.), by reaching Punakha check in a hotel and relax. Stay overnight at Punakha.
Day 05 Explore Punakha:
After breakfast enjoy sightseeing of beautiful Punakha valley. You may go for a hike at the Samtengang Trek. The trek is a very easy and suitable trek for all kinds of trekkers. The highlight point of the trek is the beautiful trail, which offers fantastic views of the entire town. Visit the Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten. The Chorten is a splendid architectural complex and has an artistic vision of the Bhutanese culture. The next destination in the town is the Zangdo Pelri Temple. The temple is a magnificent place in Bhutan where you can find statues of Guru along with his eight manifestations. Lastly, visit the Punakha Suspension Bridge and Punakha Dzong. It is a beautiful ancient fortress. Evening back to hotel and stay overnight at Punakha.
Day 06 Punakha to Bumthang:
Take an early breakfast and check out from hotel. Start a journey around 6.5 hrs. to Bumthang. On arrival in Bumthang check in a hotel and after freshen up visit some sightseeing. i.e.- Jakar Dzong. This picturesque location overlooks the Chokhor valley and was built in 1667. It is also known as the Yuelay Namgyal Dzong. This is in honour of the victory over the troops of the Tibetan ruler. Evening spend some leisure time at the local market of the town and stay overnight at Bumthang.
Day 07 Explore Bumthang:
After breakfast continue your sightseeing of beautiful Bumthang. Visit Kurjey Lhakhang. This temple complex is huge and very active. It is named after the body (kur) print (jey) of Guru Rinpoche. The body is preserved here in a cave inside the oldest of the three buildings that make up the temple complex. Visit the Tamshing Goemba. This Goemba was formally known as the Tamshing Lhendup Chholing. It was established in 1501 the unusual structure became an attraction point for tourists. Last destination for the day is the Konchogsum Lhakhang. The place is located 400m below Tamshing. Evening back to hotel and stay overnight at Bumthang.
Day 08 Bumthang Sightseeing:
After breakfast enjoy some sightseeing of Bumthang i.e.- Wangdichholing Palace. The palace was built in 1857, on the site of a battle camp. Defiantly most popular tourist spot in Bumthang. Visit next destination the Jampey Lhakhang. This temple was built in 659 by the Tibetan King on the same day as Kyichu Lhakhang in Paro. Also, the temple was visited by Guru Rinpoche during his visit to Bumthang and hence holds lots of spiritual value to the locals. Visit the Ngang Lhakhang. Even this site was visited by Guru Rinpoche and hence holds utmost importance in the town. After completing sightseeing back to hotel and stay overnight at Bumthang.
Day 09 Travel from Bumthang to Paro:
After early breakfast check out from hotel and proceed to Paro, it will take around 9 hrs. journey from Bumthang.
On arrival at Paro check-in a hotel and after freshen up you may visit some places i.e.- The Chele La Pass. This pass is the highest motorable pass in all of Bhutan. It offers the view of the great Mt. Jomolhari and Jitchu Drake and also overlooks both the valleys of Paro and Haa. Evening back to hotel and stay overnight at Paro.
Day 10 Paro sightseeing:
After breakfast continue the sightseeing of beautiful Paro. The first destination for the day is the Tiger’s Nest (Paro Taktsang). It is a nice place that has great religious significance. The monastery offers picturesque and splendid views of the surrounding valleys due to its location that is on an upper cliff. Visit the Rinpung Dzong. The place has a very spiritual environment and portrays many illustrations and paintings on the life of Buddha. Last destination for the day is the Drukgyel Dzon, here you can see the fascinating stone work of the past. Also, on climbing to the top of the ruins you will get an extraordinary view of the valley around you. After completing sightseeing back to hotel and stay overnight at Paro.
Day 11 Explore Paro:
After breakfast visit some sightseeing of Paro. Visit the National Museum of Bhutan. It flaunts with art and traditions like paintings, art pieces, animal masks and many more facets on its vast six-floor building. Then will proceed to Paro Chhu. This place is a tributary of Wong Chhu. The river passes through Paro Taktsang and Paro Dzong and gives both the grand monasteries a glorious look. It also has a step bridge, which is built over the Paro River leading to the Paro Dzong. The last destination in the city is the Dzongdrakha Goemba. This is a serene site that is also known as Mini Taktsang. After completing sightseeing back to hotel and stay overnight at Paro.
Days 12 Paro International Airport Drop:
After breakfast check out from hotel and we will drop you at Paro International Airport with an everlasting memory to your onward journey.
